I know spoilers are out for the last five episodes. I do NOT want to know them. I don't care if people think they're the worst/best thing that's ever happened in the history of civilization. I don't want to hear it. I can judge that for myself when the episodes air, thank you very much. By the way, this is not directed at any person or incident. I just wanted to go on record with my new anti-spoiler policy. If this is indeed the final season, then I would like to experience it without any more unnecessary hysteria than is already out there right now. Mmm'kay? Thanks! :)

Overall, I have to say this was one of my favorite episodes of the season. Take out the one plot I didn't like (see below) and it might have been a top ten (or at least 15!) of the series for me. I can't wait for tonight's episode, but much sadness that we're on hiatus after that. :(
Like I said, I loved the episode. I wish there weren't a few scenes I know I'll feel compelled to skip upon rewatch, but what's left was a really damn good episode.

Ah...Tick, Arthur, Die Fledermaus, American Maid and Sewer Urchin. Vs. The Idea Men, Chairface Chippendale, Dinosaur Neil, Mr. Mental, The Breadmaster, El Seed, The Tick, The Uncommon Cold, Brainchild, Pineapple Pokopo, The Proto-Clown and Arthur's Bank Account! Good times to be had.
(Now, the original subject on this was a hearty "SPOOOOOONNNN!!!", however the Tick's blue tights of justice were simply too much for my computer to handle. Trying to play the disc caused a stop error and an automatic reboot while typing this post. Twice. Evil is afoot, I say! Hopefully, it's just a computer problem.)

Haven't been feeling "talkative" much this summer, for various and sometimes inexplicable reasons, but I'm going to give this LJ thing another go now.
Entertainment-wise, I've been keeping busy all summer with all the new series that kept popping up on television. I swear I watched more this summer than I did during the normal network TV season. I'm commenting on them below, pretty much spoiler-free in my thoughts, but if anyone wants to discuss further below, as long as it's aired, please do! :)

Digital Cable is finally mine as of yesterday! And DVR is finally mine! Squeee!! All those pretty channels I never had before and DVR, too! Squeee!! And HBO! Finally, no more waiting 2 years for The Sopranos or Deadwood or whatever to come out on DVD. So happy!
Now, for the Arghhh portion of today's post. I bought myself an early b-day present last week - a DVD recorder/VCR unit. And for the life of me, I can't get it hooked up in combination with the new cable box and my TV. I had no problem with the old converter box, but try as I might last night, I just couldn't get it to all work together. I know how to follow directions pretty well. I usually don't have any trouble hooking this type of stuff up, but damned if I could get it to work. I think I may just wait until the weekend when I have a fresh brain. Until then, my new toy is going to have to sit there, doing nothing more than being a clock. :(
But still, so excited about the DVR. After resolving some trouble I was having getting the program guide to come up last night, I just sat down and programmed a bunch of series to record. First of them being Veronica Mars, of course. And an additional "woo hoo!" for new episodes beginning tonight. First of 9! I'm just bouncing with excitement right now. Here's hoping people realize it's back from hiatus this week!
And happy, happy birthday (or should I say "burfday") to my not-yet-on-LJ friend. She knows who she is! Hope it's been a fabulous one, my friend. :)
